A Story about Old Documentation!

A Finnish customer having a G20-30 Newtec machine from 1979 (number 241) wanted a manual and electrical documentation to maintain his still working equipment.

The customer contacted Newtec's After Sales service and in few minutes the necessary papers were found in the archive.

It is a funny story. Of course you sometimes can be lucky in such a case, but we can’t guarantee.
Isn't it probably more fun to sell a new machine?

Case: Carrots in Canada

At Janzen Packaging Inc. (http://www.newtec.com/dealers-and-partners/dealers.html#North-America) in Canada carrots up to 12" in length are packed into 1 to 8lb Cello Bags.
David Janzen tells:
"The customers demand the carrots are vertically in-line and the bag is closed tightly.
In 2005/6 we worked diligently with NEWTEC to find a solution. Successful changes brought in the 2012XBDDG (http://www.newtec.com/machines/weighing-machines/2012XBDDG) weigher by changing the shape of the weighheads, the PCS, and the addition of the USCB-20 (http://www.newtec.com/machines/packaging-machines/USCB-20) bagger.
This machine was sold with decent success for the next 2 years. However, many customers wanted tape closing (not available on the USCB-20 (http://www.newtec.com/machines/packaging-machines/USCB-20)) and increased capacity.

Since the first 2012XBDDG (http://www.newtec.com/machines/weighing-machines/2012XBDDG) weigher with the newly developed PEB40G (http://www.newtec.com/machines/packaging-machines/PEB-40-G-Funnel) bagger, we have been so successful that we have sold close to a dozen systems throughout the country!
Not only were production speeds increased, but the customer now has the choice of running tape or Kwik Lok closers. It should also be mentioned that the system is easily adjustable to run shorter carrots and other products such as Beets and Parsnips.
The quality level of the machines has been incredible. We have had minimal service calls and very few parts have needed replacing.
Many of these machines have been running steadily on 3 shifts for almost 10 months now and haven’t missed a beat!
To exemplify the confidence the customers have in NEWTEC/Janzen, in the Province of Quebec we are going to install the first CELOX for Carrots (http://www.newtec.com/machines/grading-machines/Celox-RV12G) in April”.

Punnets and clam shells

Newtec produces many NBM machines with lid closer.
Lately we have made a NBM61 (http://www.newtec.com/machines/packaging-machines/NBM-61) with lid closer in combination with a special 2009 for mix of small peppers.
The weigher was split into 2-5-2 to make it possible to mix peppers of two or three colours.
The NBMs with lid closers have always been slower than the NBMs without closer. To increase speed we have made machines with two closing units, which work parallel with each other. In the near future we will build a NBM91 (http://www.newtec.com/machines/packaging-machines/NBM-91) with triple closer.
The three closers will operate at the same time as the dispenser loads three punnets on the conveyor. This will minimize the time lost for closing, and we should be able to do over 60 per minute, if fed from a weigher with three conveyors.

Our most specialized NBM is the NBM61 TC (http://www.newtec.com/machines/packaging-machines/NBM-61-TC) for triangular punnets.
For this type of punnets it has been necessary to make the closing unit outside the punnet conveyor. The closing unit is built as an integrated part of the push out unit.
It will close two punnets at a time.
The machine is able to fill and close 50-55 punnets per minute.
The machine was made for the Rubipack triangular punnet, but has been adapted to other types as well.
